2024 Winter Knights

Introduction:

On January 13, 2024, I went to a chess tournament at Colombia Elementary School and I was kind of excited about it. There were 4 matches for rated kids and 5 matches for non-rated kids. I was in rated grade 5-6.

Games I Played:

I won all the games but 1st one, the reason I lost is that I was paired up with the player that had the second highest rating in my section. I guess I'm kind of okay with it because that player had a rating that was more than twice as what I had, but it also meant I needed to practice a little bit more than what I do now. Below is the picture of my standing after all the 4 games I played in this tournament.

Award I Won:

At the award ceremony I would have got third, but I got fifth because of tiebreak, there were two other players who had the exact same score as me but had a higher rating that's why those two were ahead of me. If I won the first game, I would have gotten a tie for first place and would have gotten second place.
